The Sweetwater Family Resource Center provides safe, well-structured programs and services for families and individuals in our community to promote their well-being. It works toward a community of stable and non-violent families and individuals.

    About

The Sweetwater Family Resource Center conducts the following programs:

Family Visitation supervises visitation between children and non-custodial parents, and facilitates custody exchanges between parents who are not together, so that children can safely spend time with both parent while avoiding overt conflict, maintaining positive relationships with the significant adults in their lives and reducing feelings of abandonment.

The Family Support Program works toward reducing child abuse and neglect and promotes positive family functioning.  It conducts classes in anger management, parenting, and financial management in the community and at the Sweetwater County Detention Center.

The Family Independence Program provides temporary and limited financial assistance with rent, utilities, gas, hot water heaters and furnaces, helping families to avoid homelessness or inadequate housing situations while taking steps to improve their independence.

Housing First provides assistance to chronically homeless families and individuals such as rapid re-housing, permanent supportive housing, and short term rental assistance.

The Sweetwater Family Resource Center is located at 756 Pilot Butte Ave in Rock Springs Wyoming.

January 24, 2019 - ROCK SPRINGS – The Sweetwater Family Resource Center received a $25,000 grant from Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation to support emergency housing and family independence for the residents of Sweetwater County.  With these funds, the Sweetwater Family Resource Center will be able to provide temporary housing, rent, and other supports for our less fortunate friends and neighbors.

This grant is part of Dominion Energy’s $1 Million commitment to “critical community needs” that specifically support increasing food securities; providing access to medicine and medical services; and ensuring housing and shelter.
